What could be better than a visit to Intermiel with the kids to inspire us for this post!

During a beautiful day in May, when the theme of bees was being celebrated in our girls' schools, Lisanne and I decided to visit a honey farm in Mirabel to learn a little more about bees and honey production, and especially to partake in the various tastings.

But our experience proved to be much more rewarding and especially inspiring!

First of all, just the different scenic country roads taken to get to the honey farm was worth the trip! Once we got there, the shop, which is well stocked with their different products and filled with wonderfully good aromas, will make you want to taste everything. I highly recommend the apple blossom honey; its sweetness and its fruity side will surprise you! Later, our two courageous ladies, Lisanne and my daughter Ophelie, dressed up in beekeeping suits to go out and visit the bee hives. What an experience! They stayed calm despite their fear and nervousness of opening a hive. Look at this beautiful photo of the bees making their honey taken in action by Lisanne! I admit it is one of my favourite, actually all our inspiration began with this picture!

Now let’s get to the deco! It was at Intermiel that we started discussing decorating with honey as the central theme. Not only because we wanted to put honey on everything we were going to eat in the next few days, but also because of the lovely yellow color ever-present at the farm. One of our favourite breakfast meals is a large bowl of yogurt with fruit, granola and... Honey! It is therefore quite natural that we wanted to set up a breakfast table where honey and the color yellow would be honoured. Admit that these photos make you hungry! Of course, all the honey used and tasted during this photo session comes from Intermiel.
